A recurring question from customers interested in our DFC Line Shredders is how to clean the equipment. This is a pertinent question, because when it comes to food, practical cleaning is essential.
The cleaning of the three models (DFC 10, DFC 20 and DFC 30) works in a very similar way, where it is separated into two groups. In one group, you can use running water and soap and in the other, it is recommended to use a damp cloth.
The first group concerns the half where the process of shredding meat and chicken takes place. The hopper is removable, providing access to the system and making cleaning very simple.
In this half you can use running water (never strong jets) and also soap for more efficient cleaning.
This group includes the electrical parts of the equipment and the start and stop buttons. This is why we suggest cleaning with a damp cloth and not pouring water directly on these components.
A single operator can carry out a good cleaning in an average of 15 to 20 minutes. Fortunately, it’s simple and practical. And as the equipment is all made of AISI 304 stainless steel, there is no risk of rust forming.
We suggest always cleaning when changing products (e.g. you started by shredding chicken breast and moved on to shredding sun-dried meat) or when the time difference between products has increased.
